Institutional Effectiveness

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness aspires to support the Rhodes Vision “to graduate students with a life-long passion for learning, a compassion for others, and the ability to translate academic study and personal concern into effective leadership and action in their communities and the world.” This vision is supported by four institutional imperatives: student access; student learning; student engagement; and student inspiration.

Institutional Effectiveness serves to advance the efforts of the College in each of these core areas by:

  • Accreditation: Providing oversight for the regional accreditation (SACSCOC) activities.
  • Assessment: Providing consultation and training to academic and administrative divisions in establishing performance measures, appropriate goals and assessment activities.
  • Planning: Collaborating with academic and administrative divisions to identify areas for improvement that will add value to the student experience.
  • Reporting: Serving as a reliable source for comprehensive and consistent information about the institution to internal and external agencies.

Rhodes is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award baccalaureate and masters degrees. Contact the Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097 or call 404-679-4500 for questions about the accreditation of Rhodes College.

Rhodes is scheduled to undergo reaffirmation in 2020.
