Winter Storm Notice 1/24/2026
A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect today, lasting until Sunday January 25, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. The forecast shows heavy snow and sleet with some icing will impact the Midsouth this weekend.
All events and activities on campus are cancelled starting Friday, January 23, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. through Monday evening January 26, 2026.
Classes for Monday January 26, 2026, are cancelled. Only essential campus emergency employees will report in person on Monday. All other employees should plan to work remotely. Remote classes remain an option for Tuesday. Additional updates will come via email.
Phillips Lane will be the 24-hour gate during this winter storm.

Saturday, Sunday and Monday:
With heavy snow accumulation, travel around the city will be limited if not prohibited. Expect that highways and side streets will be impassable until road crews can clear them.
Campus electricity and water services have remained stable.
On campus services:
On Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, the Refectory will be open from 9:00 am to noon for brunch and from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm for dinner.
On Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, the Lair/Middle Ground is closed for food services.
On Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, the Middle Ground will remain open for gathering space.
On Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, the BCLC will be open from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm daily.
On Saturday and Sunday, the Library is closed. On Monday the Library will be open from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
On Saturday and Sunday, the Mailroom will be closed. Monday TBD.
On Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, the Bookstore will be closed.
Be careful of slick areas, falling ice and limbs as you traverse on campus. Crews are working to treat/clear sidewalks, streets and parking lots. Dress in layers. The Campus snow routes can be found at this link:

Pulling anyone behind a motorized vehicle is extremely dangerous and prohibited on Campus.

Expect extremely cold temperatures and wind chills through Tuesday.
An Extreme Cold Warning has been issued starting at 6:00 p.m. Sunday January 25, 2026, lasting until noon Tuesday January 27, 2026.
