In affective computing, a system can detect a user’s feelings during the learning process and respond appropriately. Professor Person describes the interdisciplinary team of cognitive psychologists, computers scientists and Rhodes students who have come together for one such endeavor—the Guru Tutor project for Memphis City Schools.
