Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Teams Earn Championships

Rhodes Lynx men's and women's swimming and diving teams pulled off impressive Southeastern Athletic Association (SAA) conference title victories. The women's team earned their second championship, making them back-to-back champions, and the men's team won their first title in program history. The SAA named Taylor McNerney Newcomer of the Year, while Anabelle Morle won High-Point Diver of the Year. Rhodes also earned SAA honors with Coach Steve Webb earning Coach of the Year for both the men's and women's teams.

Over 130 Lynx Student-Athletes Named to 2023 SAA Honor Roll

More than 130 student-athletes from Rhodes College Athletics programs were named to the Southern Athletic Association Conference's Athletic Honor Roll for the Fall 2023 semester. To qualify, student-athletes from the SAA's eight schools must have posted a minimum GPA of 3.25 for the semester and been members of a conference-sponsored varsity sport. The Fall 2023 Honor Roll includes the sports of men's cross country, women's cross country, football, field hockey, men's soccer, women's soccer, and volleyball.

Rhodes Claims 6 SAA Championships

Field Hockey, Men’s Soccer, Baseball, Men’s Swimming, Women’s Golf, and Men’s Lacrosse  all won league championships during the 2024 and 2025 seasons. 

The Women’s Golf team earned the automatic qualifier to the DIII Women’s Golf National Championship. Men’s Lacrosse won the SAA regular season title and the SAA Tournament title. Billy Cameron and Nate Oekerman were named Coaching Staff of the Year. David Hart '25 was named Defensive Player of the Year. Baseball captured the SAA Tournament title and earned an automatic berth into the NCAA DIII National Baseball Tournament.  Women’s Lacrosse advanced to the SAA Tournament finals. Bari Pinkett ’25 was named SAA Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive year.

Women's Golf National Titles: Our women's golf team has made us proud with multiple national titles. Their dedication sets the standard for Rhodes Athletics.

SAA Commissioner's Cup Wins: Our teams regularly win the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Commissioner's Cup, a sign of our well-rounded sports program.

Edmund Orgill Trophy: For decades, Rhodes has battled for this historic football trophy, making our rivalry one of the longest continuously running rivalries in college football in the Southern United States.
