Christine Sears has established herself as a sought-after cellist in the Mid-South.
Ms. Sears is an avid orchestral musician and has previously been a member of the Jackson
Symphony (Jackson, TN), Missouri Symphony (Columbia, MO), and the Rogue Valley
Symphony (Ashland, OR). She is an active substitute with the Memphis Symphony and has
played with many groups throughout the state of Oregon. She has had the pleasure of
collaborating with renowned artists such as Zuill Bailey, Dionne Warwick, Trio Con Brio
Copenhagen, and Ricky Skaggs.
Ms. Sears’ competition wins include the 2020 Concerto/Aria competition at the University of
Oregon, and the 2013 Masterworks Youth Music Competition in Olympia, WA. She has been
admitted to competitive festivals such as Center Stage Strings, the Chautauqua Institution, and
Brevard Music Center, among others.
In addition to classical music, Ms. Sears enjoys exploring various genres with her cello including
rap, folk/country, Christian, and pop.
Ms. Sears is currently pursuing a doctoral degree with Dr. Kimberly Patterson at the University
of Memphis. Her previous teachers include Leo Singer, Steve Pologe, David Requiro, Alistair
MacRae, and Donna Moore.
