Your room is ready for you! Check in with Residence Life, then drop off your luggage in your room, so you can begin your time at Open Rhodes!

Welcome & Setting Your Foundation: The Rhodes College Academic Experience (12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.); BCLC McCallum Ballroom
This session will formally welcome you to Rhodes College. Faculty will also discuss the curriculum and academic opportunities available.
Resource Fair: (1:00 p.m. - 1:45 p.m.); BCLC Multi-Sports Forum
Explore the Student Life departments, community organizations, and support services Rhodes has to offer!
Lynx-to-Lynx Student Session (2:00 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.); Various Classrooms
Your Lynx Leaders will guide you through a fun and interactive session that will prepare you for the rest of your time at Open Rhodes and acquaint you with campus life and resources.
Registration 101 (3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.); BCLC McCallum Ballroom
The Registrar’s office will provide you with all you need to know in preparation for your course registration process.
Lynx to Academic Success (4:45 p.m. - 5:45 p.m.); Various Computer Labs
Your Lynx Leaders will help you create a saved schedule for fall registration that you will discuss with your academic advisor on Day 2!
Dinner at the “RAT” (6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.); Refectory
Dinner will be provided at the Refectory. Mix and mingle with your peers over food; you may just meet your new roommate!
- Health Professions Dinner (6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.); Refectory-Hyde Hall
If you are interested in Health Professions, grab your dinner and head to Hyde Hall to gather with other Health Professions Advising (HPA) students to learn more about HPA at Rhodes College.
Residence Hall Open House (7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.); Open Residence Hall
You will have a chance to tour a first-year residence hall to gain a sense of on-campus housing.
Open Rhodes Night Life! (8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.); Various Locations
Choose your own adventure! Engage in a variety of activities with your peers to conclude night one.

From Home to Rhodes (2:00 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.); BCLC McCallum Ballroom
The transition from home to college marks an important milestone on the path from adolescence to adulthood. This session will be led by the Counseling Center and will discuss supporting your family and student through the transition.
Residence Hall Open House (3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.); Open Residence Hall
You will have a chance to tour a first-year residence hall to gain a sense of on-campus housing.
Shop at the Bookstore (3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.); College Bookstore, West Campus
Enhance your Rhodes style by purchasing swag and other items at the college bookstore. You may also acquire the Rhodes Reads book for students, while supplies last.
Wine & Cheese Reception (5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.); Barret Library Apse
Enjoy wine and cheese while you mingle with the Class of 2027 parents and families, college leadership, faculty, staff, and Alumni Relations!
Day Two Schedule
Students
Resident Hall Check-Out (8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.); West Village Breezeway
Collect all your personal items from your residence hall room and check out with a Lynx Leader outside of West Village on the breezeway. We can provide luggage storage for those who do not have a vehicle on campus in which to place your belongings.
Breakfast in the Refectory (8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.)
Lynx Life Session (9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.); BCLC McCallum Ballroom
Join the Deans of Student Life to discuss preparing for campus life.
Campus Dining (10:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.); BCLC McCallum Ballroom
Learn about dining on campus and the opportunities offered at the Refectory and Lair.
Group Advising (11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.); Various Locations
You will meet with an Open Rhodes advisor who will help you navigate through your class selection for fall courses.

Individual Advising – Will be scheduled individually
Students will be assigned to meet 1:1 with a faculty member to discuss course selections. Advising times will be scheduled individually between the student and their advisor.
Welcome Week
On Campus
Welcome week is an experience that takes place before classes begin in the fall. Students will have the opportunity to meet other new students, learn more about campus and the surrounding community, meet with their academic advisor, and finalize their fall schedule.
Move-in Day for the Class of 2027 is Friday, August 18!
