Four students from Rhodes presented their research at the Joint Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America and Australian Acoustical Society recently held in Sydney, Australia. They are Amaila Bay ’25, Kate Hazelwood ’26, Grace Nehring ’25, and Blake Lawler ’24, who each gave an oral presentation describing new findings and developments in medical ultrasound.

Their research was carried out in the Physics Laboratory for Ultrasonic Studies at Rhodes under the supervision of Profs. Ann Viano and Brent Hoffmeister. The work was supported by the Mac Armour Fellowship in Physics that provides summer research stipends for physics students. In addition, all four students were supported by competitive travel grants from the Acoustical Society of America and the Society of Physics Students as well as the Rhodes Student Travel Fund.
