Megan Starling ’02 Receives 2013 Rising Star Award at Admission Conference

Megan Andrews Starling, associate director of admission at Rhodes, received the Rising Star award given by the Southern Association for College Admission Counseling (SACAC). Starling, along with Rhodes Admission Dean J. Carey Thompson, was recognized at SACAC’s annual conference held in Memphis April 20-23.

The Rising Star award recognizes “individuals with less than five years of experience in the field that exemplify excellence and dedication to serving the needs of students in the transition from high school to college.”

Starling earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Rhodes in 2002 and went on to receive a master of science degree in conflict management from Kennesaw State University. In 2009, she joined the Rhodes admission staff.

“I can’t imagine a better job than to help students navigate their way to a place that has done so much for me. It’s just a small way to give back,” says Starling.

Her territories include Kentucky, Louisiana, West Tennessee Private Schools (west of Nashville).
