Project SEED Summer Program Inspires Young Students Interested in STEM

“Project SEED gives us an opportunity to make a significant contribution not only to the future of STEM, but also Rhodes College,” says Karen Mosley, chemical safety officer at Rhodes. “We can reach students from diverse backgrounds who have great talent, but limited opportunity. Through Project SEED, Rhodes provides that opportunity and, in the process, achieves its vision ‘to attract and retain a talented, diverse student body.’”

Rhodes Awarded $25K Grant from Teagle Foundation and NEH to Transform Search Curriculum

Rhodes College is updating and expanding its long-established Search program with the support of a $25,000 planning grant for the 2023-2024 academic year from the Cornerstone: Learning for Living initiative. Jointly sponsored by the Teagle Foundation and the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Cornerstone: Learning for Living initiative seeks to revitalize the role of the humanities in higher education.

Rhodes Makes Forbes’ Inaugural List of America’s Best Small Employers

Rhodes has made one of Forbes’ newest rankings: America’s Best Small Employers. Forbes partnered with the market research firm Statista to survey workers at companies with between 200 and 1,000 employees. Only 300 institutions, from an initial pool of 10,000 businesses nationwide, made the inaugural list.

Tony Eskridge ′20 Receives National Hunger Leadership Award

Rhodes alumnus Tony Eskridge ’20 is the recipient of the inaugural Rising Star Alum Hunger Leadership Award, presented by the Congressional Hunger Center in June in Washington, D.C. While at Rhodes, he won an Emerson National Hunger Fellowship, which provides leadership development opportunities for motivated individuals who wish to make a difference in eliminating hunger and poverty.
