Student Accessibility Services

Student Accessibility Services (SAS), formerly Student Disability Services, views disability as an integral part of diversity at Rhodes College. Through collaboration, we ensure students with disabilities experience access and inclusion in their educational programs through accommodations or other modifications.

Currently, 20% of Rhodes students are registered with SAS. This population includes students with a variety of documented conditions.

• Learning and Attentional Disorders

• Psychiatric Impairments

• Chronic Health Impairments

• Mobility Impairments

• Sensory Impairments

• Traumatic Brain Injuries

• Temporary Impairments

In accordance with the provisions of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, and Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, as amended, SAS determines and provides reasonable accommodations on a case-by-case basis for otherwise qualified students who have demonstrated a need for these services.

All accommodation requests are the responsibility of the student.  The chart below outlines the differences between high school and college.
