Fall 2022
Fall Housing Assignments: You should receive your fall housing assignment by email the week of July 25. Please review your Rhodes email account for your fall assignment information. If you have any questions regarding housing assignments or move-in, please contact the Residence Life Office at (901) 843-3241 or reslifestaff@rhodes.edu
Will I have a Resident Assistant?
Yes, your Resident Assistant (RA) will be an upper-class student who lives in your hall. Your RA has been trained in advising, roommate conflict assistance, community building and health and safety concerns. Take time to get to know them as they are a great resource about the residential experience and Rhodes.
Should I contact my Roommates, Apartment and Suitemates?
Yes! You should contact your room/apartment/suite mates(s) to touch base and begin discussing interests, habits, and boundaries. It is important for roommates to talk about not just what each roommate will bring to campus this fall, but your expectations of each other as it relates to health and safety this fall.
At your first-floor meeting, your RA will ask room/suite/apartment mates to complete a Roommate Agreement including an agreement section about health and safety. The roommate agreement allows you to discuss the sharing of personal items, cleanliness expectations and study and social time in the room. It is important for roommates, apartment and suite mates to talk about but your expectations of each other as it relates to health and safety this fall.
Can I Request a Room Change?
Given the limited spaces we have available this fall, we did our best to honor requests for room/suite/apartment mate(s) and different environments. We recognize that we were not able to meet those requests completely. Unfortunately, we are not able to make any changes at this time. As the semester gets underway, if space permits, then we will consider changes if possible.
If and when a room change is possible, changes will be pre-approved by a staff member in the Residence Life Office.
How do I request to arrive early for Fall 2022?
We understand that some students may need to arrive early for specific reasons. Early arrival requests must be submitted two weeks prior to the date you wish to arrive. There is a cost associated with arriving early if you are approved.
The cost to arrive early is $100 per day/night if approved to arrive two weeks prior to the date of the requested arrival date. If approved to arrive less than two weeks prior to the date you wish to arrive, the fee is $200 per day/night.
