The CMT series Million Dollar Quartet wrapped up filming in Memphis in early July. Among the cast was Rhodes’ own Griffin Rone ’19, who played bassist Bill Black in the show set to begin airing in spring 2017. The series is an adaptation of the hit Broadway musical by the same name that chronicles Memphis’ Sun Records and the rise to prominence of Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins. The first eight episodes cover the years 1952 to 1956. Early this summer, Rhodes’ Kenneth Piper ’17 spoke with Rone about his role in the series.
