Rhodes alumni Jennifer Rote ’15 (chemistry), Sarah Malkowski’14 (chemistry), Gabrielle Bailey ’15 (chemistry) and Noah Brown ’14 (biochemistry and molecular biology), and current student Sky Cochrane ’18 (chemistry) recently had their work published in the peer-reviewed journal, Synthetic Communications. The manuscript is co-authored by Professors Larryn Peterson and Mauricio Cafiero. The work, the synthesis of dopamine derivatives, was completed as part of the Rhodes Fellowship program. Rote and Malkowski, both recipients of NSF graduate research fellowships, are pursuing Ph.D.’s at Northwestern University and Yale University, respectively. Bailey and Brown are currently attending medical school at the University of Kansas and the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
