Lee Award Fellowship for Research in Korea
Prof. Seok-Won Lee has been awarded a 2014 Korea Foundation Field Research Fellowship. This is a highly competitive national fellowship that provides financial support for scholars who plan to engage in Korea-related research in Korea. Other recipients of the award come from colleges and universities throughout the world.
Prof. Lee will use this 3-month fellowship for summer research as a visiting scholar at Yonsei University during May, June, and July 2014. This will allow him to continue the work that he will begin during his early leave in Korea during the spring semester 2014. During his time in Korea, Prof. Lee will work on his book manuscript, tentatively titled “Rationalizing Empire: Social Science and the Construction of the East Asian Community in Imperial Japan, 1931-1945.”
