As an alumna from the class of 2007, Becky Leslie has been a part of the Rhodes family for eight years now. Having lived in Memphis for a four year stint in her youth, she was pleasantly surprised by how Memphis life as a Rhodes student differed from her youth. Upon graduating, Becky taught middle school students for three years, but could not turn down the opportunity to come back to Rhodes. In 2010, she returned to the college to put the skills she acquired as an Urban Studies major to use. Working as a Community Development Project Manager, she was able to work directly with residents, business owners, and stakeholders in the neighborhoods surrounding Rhodes. She serves the college now as a Senior¬†Assistant Director of Admission and the Coordinator of Multicultural Recruitment. “Rhodes is the place that gave me the tools and allowed me the room to come into my own. I am beyond excited by the opportunity to offer this type of transformational experience to students from all different walks of life.”

In her free time, Becky can be found enjoying the many activities offered in Memphis’ downtown. From the restaurants and shopping, to farmer’s markets and live music, she finds it difficult to choose what each weekend will be filled with. “I love that Memphis neighborhoods have so much history and offer such versatile options for engagement. There’s truly no other place like this!”
