Registration for Pre-Mester is available to a student once their Fall 2021 Enrollment Deposit is paid, and will continue through July 2.
We will honor one of the three courses that you request, but we cannot guarantee a specific course placement until the Pre-Mester registration closes. We hope to grant your first preference, but placement will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
Billing and Payment Information
The bill for Pre-Mester will be applied to your fall 2021 tuition statement, which will be available in mid-July.
Please visit our Rhodes Express webpage to learn more about the billing and payment procedures at Rhodes College.
The $300 deposit is non-refundable and due at the time of Pre-Mester registration.
Students who wish to cancel their registration must do so prior to Tuesday, July 6, to avoid charges to their accounts for Pre-Mester tuition, room and board. Rhodes makes financial commitments on students’ behalf well in advance of the start of each Rhodes program, including the Pre-Mester. Hence, refund requests for program fees made after July 6th will be made only on recoverable costs such as room & board, less a 10% processing fee.
Once classes have begun, all requests for withdrawal must be initiated by the student through the Associate Dean for Student Success, Dr. Jamia Stokes. The official date of withdrawal will be the date when approval is obtained from the Associate Dean. A student can receive a prorated refund only in the event that he/she withdraws due to protracted illness or injury that prevents completion of the academic work and, as such, is certified by a physician, psychologist, or other qualified professional. The pro rata charge for refund will be made only on recoverable costs such as room & board.
We strongly encourage all enrolled students to purchase travel insurance that covers illness, travel disruptions, and prepaid costs.
Residence Hall Information
All Pre-Mester students will be housed in Williford Hall on the Rhodes campus. Information about your specific housing assignment will be sent to your Rhodes email address. In the meantime, check out our recommended packing list.
Rhodes College requires all students to have accident, sickness and hospitalization insurance coverage. Students may be covered under a family policy or a private carrier, and insurance coverage must continue as long as the student is enrolled.
Rhodes College offers a student health insurance plan to ensure that all students have access to comprehensive health insurance in Memphis while attending college. The coverage for this plan will be effective on August 1, 2021. If you are planning to enroll in the Rhodes Health Insurance plan, you will need to be sure to keep your family plan active until August 1st to avoid a lapse in coverage while attending the Pre-Mester. For more information on the requirement, please see the Rhodes College Health Insurance page.
Like our spring 2021 semester, Pre-Mester will be held on campus in socially distanced classrooms. Small class sizes allow for an intimate educational experience in a safe setting.
Any changes to this plan will be communicated directly to Pre-Mester students.
