Parking Information for Memphis ORCS

Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law
1 N. Front Street Memphis
For Registration, All Group Meeting, and Awards

Below is the information for the two garages that our students normally use.  Another option (other than these garages) would be for teams to park by the courthouse and walk there. It is about a 7- to 8-minute walk (.4 miles away.) This option would result in cars already being close to the courthouse and a shorter walk back when it is dark after the night’s round.

  • Mud Island Parking Garage - 125 North Front Street, 901-576-7223
  • Econo Lodge Parking Garage - 22 North Third Street, 901-522-9237

The best options for parking on Friday will be either on the street (north side) of Court or one of the garages nearby. There are two garages right across the street, metro 67 and Brinkley.

On Sunday, students can park on the south side of Court without any problems. This area is designated for Memphis faculty and staff during the week, but after hours and on the weekend, they do not ticket. Parking is NOT available around the building. These are faculty and Academic Dean spaces and not available to the public.

All rounds will be held here.

Parking is free on the streets throughout downtown Memphis on weekends and after 6 pm during the week. There are also several parking garages in the blocks surrounding the courthouse.

Lunch Options

As you may have noticed from the schedule, the time between the Saturday rounds is limited. You may want to think ahead about visiting the Central Barbecue Food Truck, which will be located outside the courthouse during the lunch hours.

You may also preorder lunch from one of our sponsors, Papa John's.

Papa John's will provide a special discount code for the teams to enter on Papa John's website for preorders (until 10:30) from the Union and Cleveland store to be delivered to the 2nd and Adams entrance on the 2nd floor of the Courthouse at 12:30 on Saturday, March 17.

The codes for students to use online will be:

  • trial1 = Large 1-topping for $7.00
  • trial2 = Large 2-topping for $8.00
  • trial3 = Any Large Specialty Pizza for $10.00

The codes will be good from 3/15 to 3/17. You will be able to call the store also, if you have any issues with the online ordering. The store's number is 278-7272. The General Manager's name is Monica Cruthids and she has been notified of this special discount.

Several fast food restaurants are located in the downtown area, including Lenny’s and McDonalds. Here are the names and phone numbers of some other restaurants that deliver:

  • Westy’s Downtown - 901-543-3278
  • Young Avenue Deli Midtown - 901-278-0034
  • Camy’s Midtown - 901-725-1667

Please remember there is no food allowed in the courtrooms.  In the past, teams have used the benches in the hallways for lunches. (One team even brought a tablecloth to spread out on the floor last year.) Snacks are also available from vending machines located in the staircase at 2nd and Washington.
