Publication Date: 8/29/2007

Two years after Hurricane Katrina, Rhodes students continue to assist communities rebuild with plans of a third trip. Student-led group Rhodes Rebuilds is working with Tulane student-led group SAFER (Student Advocacy For Equitable Recovery) on rebuilding efforts (putting up sheetrock, roofing, insulation, etc.) in New Orleans.

Rhodes Rebuilds has hosted one trip to the Bay St. Louis, Mississippi and another one to New Orleans. The third trip to New Orleans will take place over the Rhodes fall recess October 12 -16 and the planning committee is looking for volunteers interested in making the journey as well as a faculty/staff adviser.

If you are interested in going on the trip and/or receiving information on how to make a donation, contact Stephanie Cassel ’10 at cassn@rhodes.edu
