David Romano Writes About July 22 Turkey Elections

July 22 is election day for Turkey and is the focus of a new article published in the Eurasia Daily Monitor by Dr. David Romano, assistant professor of international studies at Rhodes.

Romano points out in the article that the elections have stirred debate on freedom of religion, secularism and security issues. “The elections are important ones for the future of Turkey,” he says.

Romano, who is author of The Kurdish Nationalist Movement (Cambridge University Press), researches  nationalism, social movements, theories of peace and conflict Mediterranean politics, forced migration (refugees, internally displaced persons), and globalization and development issues.
