Alumna Runs In World Relay Race With a Cause

Mary Chervenak ’90 is one of 20 participants of the Blue Planet Run, a 95-day relay race across 16 countries and four continents. Presented by the Blue Planet Run Foundation, the purpose of the race (June 1 – Sept. 4) is to raise awareness and money for safe-drinking-water projects around the world.

Chervenak of Winston-Salem, N.C., was chosen from more than 300 people. According to a Winston-Salem Journal article, Chervenak′s passion for running began at Rhodes where she was a chemistry major.
