John Robertson ’68 Named President of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons

Jon H. Robertson, MD, will be named president of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) at the organization’s annual meeting in Washington, DC, April 16-19.
An active member of the AANS since 1983, Robertson has served on the AANS board of directors since 1999, most recently finishing a one-year term as president-elect. He is chair of the development committee, and a member of several others.
Robertson was named professor and chair of the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis in 1997. He has been a practicing member of the Semmes-Murphey Neurologic and Spine Institute since 1979.
Active in many professional organizations and a prolific author, he has written the books Lasers in Neurosurgery and Cranial Base Surgery.
Founded in 1931 as the Harvey Cushing Society, AANS is a scientific and educational association with more than 6,800 members worldwide.
