Attorney/Artist’s Paintings Celebrate Black History Month

The Memphis Botanic Garden, 750 Cherry Rd., is celebrating Black History Month with an exhibition of works by several artists, including paintings by Memphis attorney and Rhodes Trustee Herman Morris ’73.

Morris, an economics and business administration major who earned his law degree at Vanderbilt University, was also a star member of the Rhodes football team. He executed many of his paintings in the exhibition while still an undergraduate student. His work is on display in the Botanic Garden’s Water Garden Room.

Hours are 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. daily.
