Alumnus Receives National Latino Psychological Association Award

Edward Delgado-Romero, 1988 graduate of Rhodes, has received the National Latino Psychological Association’s (NPLA) Distinguished Professional Early Career Award.  The honor is for his efforts to generate and advance psychological knowledge and foster its effective application for the benefit of the Hispanic/Latino population. “Early career” is defined as 10 years or fewer since earning a doctoral degree.

Delgado-Romero, an assistant professor at the University of Georgia, is training director and head of the university’s counseling psychology doctoral program. He holds the Ph.D. in counseling psychology from the University of Notre Dame.
