Seven Rhodes students, with support from the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, will attend the upcoming Nebraska Conference for Undergraduate Women in Mathematics. They are Catherine Appleton ’11, Effie Du ’12, Andrea Hassink ’10, Alexandra Phipps ’12, and Kaetlin Taylor ’12, Sarah Thompson ’12 and Teresa Zhou ’12.

The conference, which will be held at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln January 29-31, 2010, will provide these students opportunities to meet other undergraduate women interested in the mathematical sciences, share their research experiences, and meet possible future research collaborators.

In the spring at Rhodes, selected members of the group will give a seminar talk about their experiences at the conference.
