Jane Wells Named 2009 SCAC Field Hockey Coach of the Year

Earlier this week it was announced that the Lynx Field Hockey Team had won the SCAC Championship. The conference title is the second under Coach Jane Wells’ leadership.

Now Wells has been named 2009 SCAC Field Hockey Coach of the Year!

According to a news release, Wells is the most winning coach in the history of the conference. Wells sports an overall mark of 53-36, and she led Rhodes to a 13-4 season including two victories and a tournament title at the championship.

A native of Richmond, Va. and a Rhodes alumna, Wells competed in three seasons of field hockey and softball as a student-athlete.

In 2003, she received a B.A. in psychology with a minor in sociology. Since graduation she has been employed at Rhodes serving first as the assistant coordinator of recreational services and adding head coaching responsibilities in 2005.
