Robert R. Llewellyn, associate professor emeritus of philosophy, dean of the college emeritus, and master carpenter, received a prestigious Cube Award from Theatre Memphis on July 12.
“The Cube Award was created as a tribute to the outstanding volunteers who are the heart and soul of our organization,” says Debbie Litch, executive producer at Theatre Memphis. It is awarded to a production volunteer who demonstrates outstanding voluntarism and dedication to Theatre Memphis.”
According to Bill Short ’71, Barret Library’s coordinator of public services and an award-winning member of the Memphis theater community himself, “Bob won the prestigious Cube Award for his thousands of hours of master carpentry in the Theatre Memphis scene shop. They love him because he adheres to the same standards of excellence he did here as dean all those years. He got involved when his wife, Lola, was on the Theatre Memphis board several years ago. Now he just enjoys being part of the show.”
