CODA Coordinator Liz Daggett will present her documentary film “A Native American Dream” to the Rhodes community on December 11 beginning at 3:30 p.m. in Frazier Jelke B.

The 40-minute documentary explores a year of struggles and surprises for a family living on the Navajo Nation Indian Reservation. The film shows that despite racism, alcoholism, and poverty, a sense of family outweighs all other concerns and that “hope and second chances mean better things are always around the corner.”

The screening will be followed by a brief question and answer session with the filmmaker.

Daggett holds a B.A. from The University of Memphis and M.F.A. from the University of North Texas in documentary film production.  Through her work, she strives to increase the impact of the arts in the lives of Rhodes students and the Memphis community.
