David McCarthy to Discuss "Andy Warhol′s America" at the Brooks

Rhodes Art Professor David McCarthy will present “Andy Warhol’s America” September 7 at the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art. The lecture begins at 2 p.m. and will mark the final day to view The Prints of Andy Warhol (From A to B and Back Again) exhibition at the museum.

The exhibition provides a survey of 63 of Warhol’s prints and paintings, including some of his most iconic subjects, like Marilyn Monroe, Liz Taylor, Jackie Kennedy, and the famous Campbell’s Soup cans.

McCarthy’s lecture will explore American themes in Warhol’s prints and paintings.
