Shelby County Mayor A C Wharton to Provide Keynote Address At Diversity Banquet

On Saturday, March 29 at 6:30 p.m., Valuing Our Impact on the Cultural Experiences of Students (VOICES), an umbrella organization for all groups that reside under Rhodes’ Office of Multicultural Affairs, will present its 1st Annual Dining for Diversity banquet.

The purpose of the event is to bring people of various groups and cultures together to share a meal, conversation and entertainment. This year’s theme is “Our Differences Are What Make Us Unique; Embracing Those Differences Is What Makes Us Strong.”

Shelby County Mayor  A C Wharton  is the keynote speaker.  Other special guests include Pablo Davis, Executive Director of Latino Memphis, and Cindi Elliot, Director of Cultural Diversity Education and the Cultural Diversity group at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri.  Entertainment will be provided by ASIA, RICE, Lipstick on Your Collar, and Alf Leyla we Leyla we Leyla (that′s Arabic for A Thousand and Two Nights).
