Hattiloo Theatre’s Macbeth to Display Rhodes Talent

Members of the Rhodes community have roles in the upcoming production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth by Hattiloo Theatre. Theatre professor Julia “Cookie” Ewing is directing the production.

Rozell Henderson ’85 plays Macbeth and Jazzie Miller ’08 plays Lady MacDuff. Other Rhodes alumni in the production are Leslie Reddick ’82 as one of the Witches, Russell Wigginton ’88 as Duncan, Kevin Collier ’90 as the doctor, and Kyle Hatley ’04 as Banquo.

Amy Noelle Haygood ’05 and Leigh Ann Evans ’90 are stage managers, Brent Butgereit’11 is dramaturg. Other Rhodes students involved are Kelly White ’09 as the Gentlewoman, Matt Mock ’11 as Seyton, and Jorge Saucedo’09 as Lennox.

The production opens Friday, Jan. 18.

Also on January 25, Rhodes will host “Shakespeare in Color: A Symposium on Macbeth and African American Performances and Appropriations.”
