Lindsay Flynn teaches classes on urban politics, American government, public policy, and scopes and methods. Her research revolves around social policy, and how the state and market interact to influence citizens′ lives. Her dissertation explores the relationship between female employment and fertility in the United States and abroad. She received her B.A. with honors from Albion College and went to the University of Virginia for graduate school. She has recently been awarded the best poster award at the 2010 American Political Science Association annual meeting.¬†Prof. Flynn will be spending her 2011-2012 academic breaks traveling to Europe to study the differences between American and European welfare states under a Dumas Malone Research Fellowship.
