Renn Eason ’18 Named 2017 Male Scholar Athlete of the Year for Indoor Field

Renn Eason has been named the 2017 Male Scholar Athlete of the Year for Indoor Field. The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced individual honorees in NCAA Division III Track & Field July 28. Eason is the first male athlete from Rhodes to earn this honor.

Scholar Athletes of the Year are selected based on performances at NCAA indoor and outdoor track & field championships and their All-Academic status. A biochemistry and molecular biology major from Memphis, Eason earned a 3.45 grade point average. In March, he won the high jump at the 2017 NCAA III Indoor Championships held in Naperville, IL.
