By Ellen McLaughlin
Directed by Brad Shelton, McCoy visiting artist

This retelling of one of history′s most compelling stories recounts the tragic and bloody aftermath of the Trojan War from the perspective of the women who stayed behind. Iphigenia and Other Daughters gracefully blends a fully modern humanity with the lyricism of the classical era.

The Canterbury Tales
Book by Martin Starkie and Nevill Coghill
Based on a translation from Geoffrey Chaucer
By Nevill Coghill
Music by Richard Hill and John Hawkins
Lyrics by Nevill Coghill
Directed by Gregory Krosnes

This universal, age-old battle between sexes roars to musical life in this rollicking adaptation of the lusty treatise on human nature and sexual politics that has intrigued scholars for hundreds of years. As it makes its annual pilgrimage to Canterbury, a group of English commoners laugh, sing and frolic through some of Geoffrey Chaucer′s most appealing tales, filling the stage with a beguiling blend of comedy, romance and images, and entertaining themselves and the audience with great with and charm.

The Soul of a People
Conceived and Directed by Harry Bryce

The Soul of a People will follow the rich African tradition of storytelling that weaves diverse disciplines such as a spoken word, visual art, dance and music into a multi-textured interdisciplinary piece of theatre. This unique fusion will feature the poetry of Langston Hughes, the visual art of Romare Bearden and the music of jazz artist Miles Davis. This production is co-produced with the Memphis Black Repertory Theatre.

Into the Woods
Music and Lyrics Stephen Sondheim
Book by James Lapine
Directed by Barry Fuller

An ambivalent Cinderella? A bloodthirsty little red riding hood? A Prince Charming with a roving eye? A witch...who raps? They′re all among the cockeyed characters in this fractured fairy tale. When a baker and his wife learn they′ve been cursed with childlessness by the witch next door, they embark on a quest for the special objects required to break the spell, swindling, lying to and stealing from Cinderella, little red, Rapunzel and jack. One of Sondheim′s most popular works, this timeless yet relevant piece is a rare and modern classic.
