Rhodes senior Sarah Kate Childs has been accepted to seven law schools—Harvard University, Duke University, University of Virginia, Cornell University, Georgetown University, Vanderbilt University, and Washington University in St. Louis. In addition, she has received almost $900,000 in scholarship offers.

Molly Hirner ’25 Wins Fulbright Canada-Mitacs Globalink Research Internship

Molly Hirner, a Rhodes College junior pursuing a major in economics and mathematics, has been selected to receive the Fulbright Canada-Mitacs Globalink Research Internship, which is intended for U.S. students to undertake advanced research projects in their area of interest for 10 to 12 weeks at a top Canadian university.

Stoddard Becomes Member of Prestigious Interdisciplinary Scientific Honor Society

Dr. Shana Stoddard, associate professor of chemistry at Rhodes, was nominated and has accepted membership into the interdisciplinary scientific honor society Sigma Xi. Membership is extended to scientists who have demonstrated excellence in scholarship and have shown noteworthy achievements evidenced through scientific publications.

Rhodes Mock Trial Wins Regionals, Set to Compete in National Championship Qualifier

American Mock Trial Association teams across the country have been competing in a series of regional tournaments to qualify for the opening round of the championship series, hoping to make it to the nationals in April. Rhodes B mock trial team took first place, and Rhodes A took second place after competing in the regional tournament held Feb. 23-25 in Norman, OK.

Wynn Selected for Collaborative Learning Cohort for Early Career Religion Faculty

Dr. Shatavia Wynn, assistant professor of religious and Africana studies at Rhodes, has been selected for the 2024 Hybrid Teaching and Learning Workshop for Early Career Religion Faculty Teaching Undergraduates. Participants join a collaborative learning cohort for seven online sessions and an in-person, five-day, summer session at Wabash Center in Crawfordsville, IN.
