The Rhodes Department of Chemistry with the St. Jude Chemical Biology Department and the local chapter of the American Chemical Society (ACS) recently co-hosted the Third Annual Undergraduate Chemistry Symposium. Held at Rhodes, the symposium featured student presentations of research performed at Rhodes, St. Jude, and the University of Memphis.
Three students won awards given by the local ACS chapter for their presentations:
- First place-Danielle Wilson (works in the lab of Prof. Cafiero at Rhodes)
- Second place-Gene Lamanilao (works in the lab of Prof. Peterson at Rhodes)
- Third place- Ellie Fratt (works in the lab of Dr. Phil Potter at St. Jude)
The event was organized and staged by the officers of the student ACS club: Megan Denny, Allie Limmer, Fei-Lin Scruggs, Brandi Massey and Katie Hatstat.
