Lynx basketball guard Sarah Johnson ’15 has been nominated for the 2015 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Woman of the Year Award. The award honors graduating female student-athletes who have distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in academics, athletics, service and leadership. Nominees come from all three NCAA divisions.
The 2015 NCAA Woman of the Year winner will be announced, and the Top 30 honorees celebrated, at the annual award ceremony Oct. 18 in Indianapolis.
Johnson started in all 29 games during the 2014-2015 season and averaged a team best 32.1 minutes per game as well as set a single season school record with 152 assists for the year. She also was honored this spring as the Rhodes Athletic Department’s outstanding female athlete of the year and inducted into Phi Beta Kappa honor society.
Johnson, who is from Little Rock, AR, graduated cum laude from Rhodes in May with a B.S. in biology.
