Rhodes Wins a SPARK Award!

Rhodes College recently won a SPARK Award, which recognizes individuals, nonprofits, corporations and schools making a positive impact in Greater Memphis. Bud Richey, associate vice president for external programs at Rhodes, accepted the trophy on behalf of the college.

The awards ceremony, which was held at the Memphis Botanic Garden, aired on WKNO-TV on Nov. 26. Rhodes was one of 13 winners (out of 37 finalists) announced at the event.

Public nominations were held from Aug. 15 to Sept. 15, and committees from The Rotary Club of Memphis reviewed nominations and selected the finalists and winners in each category based on their philanthropic leadership, volunteerism, and activation/impact within the Memphis Metro Area.

The SPARK Awards are produced in partnership with WKNO-TV, the Lipscomb Pitts Breakfast Club (LPBC), Media Source, and The Rotary Club of Memphis.
