Women′s DIII News recently announced its 2013-14 Preseason All-American Team including Rhodes senior guard Lauren Avant. She was selected as one of the top three players in the South region and one of the top 24 players in the country.Women’s DIII News is a leading publication covering Division III women’s basketball.
Avant led the Lynx to a 25-4 record in 2012-13 and a second round appearance in the Women′s Division III NCAA Tournament. She also was named the Defensive Player of the Year in the Southern Athletic Association last season.
A Memphis resident and graduate of Lausanne Collegiate School, Avant is a biology major.
