Rhodes Mock Trial Teams Advance to National Championship Tournament in Los Angeles

The Rhodes College A team won this past weekend’s Memphis opening round of the National Championship Tournament held at the D’Army Bailey Courthouse and sponsored by the American Mock Trial Association (AMTA).  The Rhodes B team also joined the Rhodes A team in advancing to AMTA's National Championship Tournament to be held in Los Angeles, CA, April 21-23.

This year marks the college’s 31st consecutive year competing at the nationals and the fifth consecutive season qualifying two teams into the top 48 field. These honors are unmatched by any other program in the field. Anna Smith and Mark Pohlmann coach both teams.

Members of Rhodes A include Sam Holder and Sean Mattheisen (captains), Jennifer Bitterly, Turner Booth, Ethan Fox, Meredith Clement, Zach Monroe, Hannah Hornsey, Jamarr McCain, and Fisher Smith. Alternates are Devin Dunkley and Matthew Busbice. 

Member of Rhodes B are Connor Hurley and Christopher Meadows (captains), Daniel Elliott, Christian Roberts, Matthew Broussard, Kelsey McClain, Lillie Stephens, Matthew Hobbs, JD Demming, and Ried Roshong. The alternate is Jeena Piriano.
