Rhodes Chorale Seeks All Voices

(Memphis, Tenn.)—Rhodes MasterSingers Chorale, a semiprofessional ensemble at Rhodes College directed by Dr. William Skoog, will hold auditions for all voice parts for its 2017-2018 season. Open to the public, auditions will be held Tuesday Aug. 22, between 5:00 and 6:30 p.m. at 613 University St., in McNeill Concert Hall (formerly Evergreen Presbyterian Church).

 

A prepared piece is recommended, in any language. Memorization is not required, an accompanist is provided; legible sheet music in the correct key is required. Each semester, the Rhodes MasterSingers Chorale performs with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra. Regular rehearsals are on Tuesdays, 7-9:15 p.m., beginning August 29 through Nov. 4 (the Fall concert date). Fall repertoire includes Requiem by Giuseppe Verdi and On the Death of the Righteous by Jennifer Higdon. Spring term will feature St. Matthew Passion, by J. S. Bach on Sunday, March 25, 2018.
