Rhodes Better Together Plans Week of Interfaith Activities Including All-Day Fast

Rhodes is a member of Interfaith Youth Core’s Better Together, a national student campaign for interfaith action, and a 2013 recipient of the organization’s Biggest Campus Impact Award.

Activities will take place April 5-11. Activities include a drive to collect interview clothes for Dress for Success and Life Line for Success; a discussion by Memphis physicians on how their faith affects the practice of medicine and healing; and a pledge signing and t-shirt campaign promoting interfaith action.

On April 9, Rhodes Better Together is asking the campus community to fast from food/bad habit the entire day and to donate $5 for Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association’s Meals on Wheels. Donors then will be given a button to serve as their entrance to an event at 6 p.m. in the McCallum Ballroom where dinner will be served by India Palace and students will share stories about fasting in their faith and non-faith backgrounds.
