Rhodes’ Associate VP Bud Richey Recognized as a Leader in Education

Bud Richey, associate vice president for external programs at Rhodes, received the 2016 SPARK Award at a ceremony aired on WKNO-TV on Dec. 12. He was recognized in the education category as “Leader of the Year.”  Public nominations were held Aug. 1-31 for the SPARK Awards recognizing the efforts of individuals, nonprofits, corporations, and schools in 13 different categories, who are igniting change and making a positive impact in the Greater Memphis community.

Richey has served as a mentor to area high school students, an advisor to student entrepreneurs on campus, and liaison for campus ROTC programs. In addition, he has worked to mobilize alumni and parents in the work of the college. 

The SPARK Awards is produced in partnership with WKNO-TV and cityCURRENT with sponsorship and additional funding and support from The Rotary Club of Memphis, Lipscomb & Pitts Insurance, and Champion Awards and Apparel.
