Dr. Charles Hughes, director of Rhodes’ Memphis Center, will be featured at the Mid-South Book Festival on Sept. 10 at Playhouse on the Square and Circuit Playhouse. He will discuss and sign copies of his book Country Soul: Making Music and Making Race in the American South, which was named one of the best music books of the year by Rolling Stone.
