Prof. Huebner to Speak at National Civil Rights Museum July 9

Dr. Timothy Huebner of the Rhodes Department of History will be guest speaker for the upcoming Book and Author series being held at the National Civil Rights Museum at 6 p.m. on July 9. The title of his lecture is “The Civil War, Emancipation, and the Birth of Human Rights in America,” which is based on his forthcoming book.

Free and open to the public, the event will take place in Hyde Hall of the museum located at 450 Mulberry.

At Rhodes, Huebner has taught courses on the history of the American South, the history of the United States Constitution and a range of special topics courses including The Mind of the South, Southern Politics, Lincoln, and the History of Memphis.
