The Overton Park Community Farmers Market, which is a joint collaborative effort of the Local Lynx Food Project at Rhodes College and the Overton Park Conservancy, will have its Grand Opening on Sept. 3 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Overton Park East Pavilion.

Various items will be sold such as fresh local vegetables and fruits, meat, eggs, breads, and arts and crafts. SNAP/EBT will be accepted. The market is one of four across Memphis which is part of the Double Greens Program that provides additional incentives for SNAP/EBT recipients. This program is funded through AARP via a grant from the United States Department of Agriculture to improve nutrition and health outcomes for low-income consumers.

Rhodes is pleased to be part of this new initiative.
