Mock Trial Teams to Have Their Day In Court This Weekend Competing in Opening Round of Nationals

Two Rhodes mock trial teams will compete in the Memphis opening round of the National Championship Tournament to be held March 21-23 in the Shelby County Court House and sponsored by the American Mock Trial Association.

Among the other schools participating in this weekend’s tournament are Stanford University, Vanderbilt University, University of Texas, University of Tennessee and the reigning national champions from Florida State University.

Rhodes students participating are Jared Blanton, Jay Campbell, Jacob Hill, Paul Hubbell, Taylor Jackson, Natey Kinzounza, Maggie McGowan, Alex McGriff, Zach Monroe, Henry Morris, Elena Mosby, Molly Mugford, Matthew Niegos, Alec Pollard, Elizabeth Ross, Lee Sands, Lauren Tesler, and Amelia Yeomelakis.

From the eight opening round sites, 48 teams will advance to the April 11-13 national championship tournament in Orlando, Fla.

The Rhodes Mock Trial program has invited Tennessee lawyers to participate as for the Memphis tournament that will consist of one round Friday afternoon, two on Saturday, and one on Sunday morning.
