Martial Arts Instructor Milan Vigil Offers Fall Taijiquan Courses

Milan Vigil, director of Yang’s Martial Arts Association, is teaching Taijiquan each Wednesday now through Dec. 4 (7:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.) through Rhodes’ Meeman Center for Lifelong Learning.

Taijiquan has been characterized as “an elegant slow-motion dance, a moving meditation.” In addition, Western science has begun to acknowledge its beneficial effects for arthritis, bone density, stress reduction, cardiovascular fitness and recovery from heart attacks.

Vigil began his studies in 1989 and has taught Taijiquan both internationally and domestically. On Nov. 2 and Nov. 3, he also will present Taijiquan workshops at the University of Wisconsin.
