As a church-related liberal arts college, Rhodes is committed to assisting religious institutions in carrying out their educational missions. As part of that commitment, members of the Department of Religious Studies frequently offer lectures and other programs to churches, synagogues, and other religious and civic groups.
Members of Rhodes′ religious studies faculty are prepared to speak on a variety of topics and in a variety of formats. We invite you to contact the department to arrange programs with our faculty any time throughout the year. To make arrangements, please call Ms. Karen Winterton at 901.843.3664 or firstname.lastname@example.org. You may also contact an individual faculty member directly by e-mail or in care of the Department of Religious Studies, Rhodes College, 2000 North Parkway, Memphis, TN 38112-1690.
The question of compensation for lectures and programs is a frequent concern for groups that wish to sponsor professional speakers. How much, if any, is an appropriate remuneration for lectures and other such services? Ordinarily, speaking fees are negotiated with individual faculty members. As a general guideline, we suggest an honorarium of $75 per engagement.
