Director of Fellowships
Academic Affairs

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Rhodes College, a highly selective, private, residential college in Memphis, Tennessee, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of Fellowships. A new “Fellowships” initiative at Rhodes will broaden access and add greater depth and consistency to experiential learning and its assessment at the college.  Student projects outside the classroom (research, creative activity, service, internship and study abroad) approved and supported by this office are designated as “Fellowships.”

The Director of Fellowships reports to the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs for Curriculum and oversees all activities associated with the development and implementation of the Fellowships Program. The Director will chair the Fellowships Committee which reviews and approves fellowship proposals.  Working collaboratively with a variety of campus offices, the Director fosters faculty, staff and student participation in the program and supports the development and implementation of a Fellowships Data Management System. In addition to the daily administrative responsibilities for the Fellowships Program, the Director assists in providing strategic leadership for the college's efforts to enrich all educational experiences and to assess their impact.

QUALIFICATIONS : Qualifications for this position include a Masters degree (Doctorate preferred), strong administrative and communications skills and significant involvement in experiential education (student research, creative activity, service, internships and/or education abroad). Preference will be given to those with experience in the liberal arts college environment.

WORK SCHEDULE : Full-time
