Rhodes Night at the Civil Rights Museum

Alumni are invited to join members of the Rhodes community for a special tour and reception to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. A full evening of events will include two tour groups through the museum with Rhodes faculty members stationed throughout the exhibits to share their insights. A cocktail reception will follow.
The first tour will begin at 5:45 p.m. (check-in begins at 5:30) with the second tour beginning at 6:15 p.m. (check-in beginning at 6:15 p.m.). The cost for the event is $20 per person.

Rhodes Remembers: MLK50

McNeill Concert Hall, West Campus
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Rhodes will host a special panel featuring Rhodes alumni who will share their personal perspectives of the significant incidents leading up to and immediately following Dr. King’s death. Rhodes Remembers MLK50 panelists will include Mike Cody ’58, member of Dr. King’s legal team at the time of his death; Jocelyn Wurzburg ’62, founder of the Panel of American Women; and Coby Smith ’68, founder of The Invaders. The panel will be moderated by Dr. Russ Wigginton ’88, Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students and former Department of History faculty member, who specialized in African-American and community history.
A reception will immediately follow the discussion.
